How to start
How to start a cosmetics brand?
Starting a beauty brand has never been easier than having DLAB Cosmetics Laboratory your partner. We offer 2 main options:
Option 1: Customize Online – Create your own beauty product using the options available directly on the website. MOQ: 100 units
Option 2: Create Your Own – Go beyond what is available on our website and explore unlimited colors, flavors, and packaging possibilities. MOQ: 500 units

Can I start small and scale later?
Definitely. That’s exactly why we created DLAB.
You can test products by ordering a low MOQ, see which ones fit your branding and target audience, and then invest in the best-selling options.

Do I need a registered business to order?
You can start the process as an individual and register your business later.

What is the difference between custom and private label?
- Custom: full personalization (formula + shade + scent + packaging).
- Private label: ready-made formulas where you only customize packaging.
About the products
Can I customize the formula?
Yes. You can personalize texture, pigmentation, shine level, actives, fragrance, and color to match your brand identity.
You can do it on the website with the options available or you can book a call for more options.
Are the formulas vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. All DLAB lip gloss formulas are vegan*, cruelty-free, EU-approved, and compliant with international regulations.
*The only product is not vegan is the Lip Balm because contains beeswax.
Can I add my logo to the packaging?
Yes, add your logo on the product page and we will print or engrave your logo on tubes and also print it on the box.

How are cosmetic products tested?
In accordance with law, when a beauty product is created, it is tested in the laboratory by measuring various physical and chemical properties, determining stability. We also send the products to external labs to make microbiological and safety tests to make sure the product meet the required needs.

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
DLAB offers one of the lowest MOQs in Europe, starting fromas low as 100–500 unitsdepending on the option you choose.

Yes. DLAB is made for you with low quantities and fast delivery.

How much can I profit?
It depends on the product you choose, different products have different profit margins, but by investing in a minimum of 100 units, you can achieve profit margins from 50%- 80%.

Can I do dropshipping?
Yes, we offer a dropshipping option; however, customization is limited to your logo.

About the Design & Branding
Can I customize the product box?
When you order products through our website, the product box will arrive in the same color as the packaging you selected and with the logo you uploaded.
If you want to fully customize your box, you have two options:
1. Add the “Customize Box Design” option on the product page. Our design team will contact you to create a unique, personalized box for your brand — including colors, layout, and visual style.
2. Send us your own box design. If your design includes all the required legal information, we will approve it and begin production using your custom box.
Do you offer business or marketing support for new entrepreneurs?

About the Legal & Compliance
Do I need a cosmetic license to start a brand?
No. DLAB handles all formulation and testing required to legally sell cosmetics.
What documents do I need to sell cosmetics in Europe?
CPSR, PIF, CPNP notification, stability tests, challenge tests, and compliant labels — which we provide.
Do you help with EU and USA documentation?
Yes. We prepare documentation for both European and American markets.
Are the product tested?
Yes, all products on our website are fully tested and ready to sell.
We conduct stability tests, compatibility tests, and all mandatory safety assessments to ensure every formula is safe, compliant, and ready for sale in Europe and internationally.
About the Production & Timeline
How long does production take?
Production usually takes 2–6 weeks, depending on customization.
How long does it take to receive samples?
Standard samples ship within 1 - 3 days.
Is production faster for reorders?
Yes. Reorders are significantly faster because everything is already approved.
About the Shipping & Returns
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship worldwide (EU, USA, UK, Middle East, and more).
How long does shipping take?
Orders placed on the website, take only up to 45 working days for your order to arrive to your door.
What are the shipping costs?
For Portugal and Spain the shipping cost is €25 and worldwide is €30.
I have changed my mind. Can I return my order?
Since you are ordering customized products, we can only accept returns for damaged or faulty items. In such cases, please contact us at support@dlab.com, and we will respond within 2 working days.
How do I track my order?
You'll be sent a shipping confirmation email with your tracking number as soon as your order is on the way.
If your tracking number isn’t working or you haven’t received it, please reach out to our customer service and we will further assist.
